Join us on this walk for the opportunity to learn about the birds of Ōtari in the company of one of New Zealand’s leading experts. Hugh Robertson is the author of the definitive Field Guide to the Birds of New Zealand, DOC’s leading exponent on native birds, a self-confessed ‘bird-nerd’ and a regular Ōtari visitor. Take a short circuit walk to the Troup Lawn and back with Hugh calling up the birds and sharing information about them and their status.
Meet at Tāne Whakapiripiri, Ōtari Visitor Centre. It is easy walking and family groups are welcome. We ask that dogs stay at home for everyones comfort and a smooth tour experience.
This is part of the Ōtari-Wilton’s Bush Trust’s annual guided walks programme. This year, they are on the fourth Sunday of the month, March – November, to celebrate 100 years of Ōtari-Wilton’s Bush. Join the Trust for only $20 for an individual or $30 for a double/family for a year and all the walks will be free, as well as other great benefits. www.owbt.nz/memberships-legacies/
