Te Āhua o te Haenga|Pollination in Motion
Saturday 12 September | 10.00 am – 2.00 pm | Discovery Garden & Treehouse Visitors Centre
Location: At the Discovery Garden – follow the Downhill Path the Discovery Garden is located between the Playground and the Treehouse, just ten minutes from either the Founders Gate entrance on Glenmore Road or from the Cable Car entrance.
Celebrate the fascinating world of pollination and discover how bees by day and moths by night help our gardens and native plants thrive. Meet local beekeepers, enjoy hands-on activities, and learn about these remarkable pollinators. Take a peek inside a live honey bee hive! Our apiscope lets you safely watch bees building, feeding and caring for their colony. And try on real beekeeper gear.
Then make your way to the Treehouse Visitor Centre to explore the special Moth Exhibition and enjoy a tasting of delicious local Oil and Chocolate.
A fun day of discovery for the whole family.
Bring the whānau, follow the buzz, and leave with a new appreciation for the small creatures (and breezes!) that make big things happen.
This event is part of the Wellington Gardens Te Wā o te Kōanga - Spring Festival 2026. Join us in celebrating spring with free events throughout September. Full line-up on our website.
