The Forgotten History of the CTrain

But for decades, as downtown Calgary got jammed with cars in the 1960s and 1970s after the death of the streetcar, rail transit was a matter of debate. Should Calgary run a monorail above 7th Avenue? A subway beneath? Or perhaps Edmonton is onto something with light-rail transit, or LRT!
Join The Sprawl for a trip through Calgary’s transit history. We’ll start in front of Old City Hall (where there’s an unused underground LRT tunnel nearby) and walk west.
