An exclusive event celebrating Michael John Harrison's newest novel 'The End of Everything', with acclaimed novelist Chris Power
About this Event

Phillip Tennent makes his living at the tideline, collecting artefacts that wash up from the Channel. It’s been years since the crisis changed everything, but its exact nature remains obscured. Government barely functions, the seas are full of new creatures, Europe has been mislaid. It feels like the end.

Now Phillip has fished out of the water an object he can’t keep. A creature that keeps changing. An artefact he must take inland, before it destroys everything he thinks he knows.

M. John Harrison is one of Britain’s most influential living writers. Since publishing his first novel in 1971, he has been the author of over 20 books, including the Viriconium stories, The Centauri Device, Climbers, The Sunken Land Begins to Rise Again, Light and Wish I Was Here: An Anti-Memoir. He has won the Boardman Tasker Prize, the James Tiptree Jr Award, the Arthur C. Clarke Award and the 2020 Goldsmiths Prize. He lives in Shropshire.

Chris Power is the author of a novel, A Lonely Man, and the story collection Mothers. His journalism and criticism have been published in various papers including the Guardian, the Sunday Times, the London Review of Books, the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal. He also works as a broadcaster for BBC Radio 4. He lives in London.

The discussion will be followed by an audience Q&A and book signing. Your ticket includes a complimentary glass of wine.
