About this Event
Grab your wand, your broomstick and a tube ticket as we zoom around the magical city of London! Wanna-be wizards and witches will be delighted to take this time turning tour in order to see as much as they can in a small amount of time.
Designed for those wizards who love books and movies about magic, but don't want to spend too much time walking all over the city or sitting in traffic on a bus. Our tour begins with a few locations said to have inspired a young Scottish woman to begin writing about a small boy who discovers a new world. We learn what kind of inspiration she took from reality and fantasy in order to create these extraordinary works of literature. How did the Royal family inspire some characters? What kind of influence did astronomy have? Was there a debate about making the book into a movie within the Houses of Parliament?
From here, we are on the move, looking at locations across the city. Broomsticks are forbidden around non-magical people, so we will travel by underground in order to visit the major locations used in the filming. Learn how the crew managed to create a giant in the middle of a Victorian market. Hear about the actors that were not allowed to even audition!
Finally we end our tour at the infamous King's Cross Station to see the real train platform (which is in between two real platforms). After the tour, you may wish to visit the nearby gift shop and trolly for photos.
(please note: you will need a valid travelcard or means to "touch in and out" as we will be travelling on the underground and travel is not included in the price of the tour)
COVID-19 Guidelines
In order to safely conduct this tour for myself and my clients, I ask that all government recommended guidelines be complied with. I will be wearing a mask and would request that clients also comply to cover mouth and nose. I will use hand sanitiser before and after the tour, and recommend that clients bring their own sanitiser. Additionally, I recommend arriving a few minutes early to go to the restroom and wash your hands if you travel via the underground. Please wear a mask while on the underground. During the tour, we will maintain a safe distance of 1m apart. In the event that you are not well on the day, please do not attend the tour. If the guide is unwell, you will be informed the morning of the tour and full refunds will be administered. It is essential that we all look after each other and keep safe during this time. Phone number must be provided at time of booking for communication options related to your tour only.
