You never know you're in a movement until it's over.
Join Global Education Center for a screening of The A Stands for Art, a documentary that chronicles the creativity of Atlanta artists who kept the city's art scene alive and growing despite a lack of funding. Through intimate stories of artists, curators, and cultural organizers, the film captures a city at a crossroads, tying Atlanta's history of resistance to its art boom today.
After the film, stay for a live discussion with filmmakers Tabari Sturdivant and Sade Wilkins, a panel of local Nashville artists, and a community meal.
This screening is part of the Southern Circuit Tour of Independent Filmmakers, a program of South Arts in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
Saturday, September 12 | 4:00 PM | Global Education Center | 4822 Charlotte Ave, Nashville, TN | $10
