About this Event
The IOSH Tees Community invite you to experience a realistic criminal court mock trial and see first hand what happens when health and safety goes wrong. You will take your place as the jury, hear the evidence presented by both prosecution and defence, and decide the verdict: Guilty or Not Guilty.
This immersive event highlights the real consequences of workplace incidents, including criminal investigation, legal scrutiny, reputational damage and personal accountability. It offers a rare opportunity to understand how decisions made on site are examined under the harsh spotlight of the criminal courts.
If you are responsible for safety, this is an experience you cannot afford to miss.
What to expect:
- An interactive mock criminal trial based on a realistic workplace health and safety incident
- Attendees taking on the role of the jury
- Evidence presented by prosecution and defence
- A verdict reached by the audience
The scenario is designed for educational and professional learning purposes and does not represent a real case. No legal knowledge is required to take part.
Following the verdict, there will be an opportunity for discussion and reflection to explore the key safety and legal lessons.
This event is particularly relevant for health and safety professionals, managers, supervisors and anyone responsible for workplace risk management.
There will also be time for networking with other health and safety professionals from the Teesside area.
Please note: attendance is limited to a maximum of 4 people per organisation.
