This free professional workshop offers vital insights into the unique experiences of Deaf individuals, especially in the context of domestic abuse. It equips professionals with the tools and understanding needed to provide inclusive, accessible and effective support. In this workshop, we will cover:

  • Real experiences and concerns the Deaf community faces when engaging with professionals
  • How to recognise the unique signs of domestic abuse in the Deaf community, and how these may differ from the hearing community
  • Practical strategies for supporting Deaf individuals experiencing domestic abuse
  • Key information about Deaf culture, useful resources and where to access specialist support
  • An overview of our service and how we can work with you to support Deaf clients more effectively

This session is ideal for professionals in safeguarding, health and social care, education, policing, domestic abuse services, and community support roles.
