TOBO & Baksta formed an alliance in the late 2000’s in the lush tropics of Far North Queensland. This partnership saw the boys play at clubs and festivals throughout the state with their signature sound of deep, quirky house and techno. During their time in the sunshine state, they founded the collective DEPTH, which saw them host the best in local, interstate and international talent through their club gigs and mini outdoor festival held in Kuranda in 2013.
Fast forward to 2015 the pair relocated to Australia’s electronic music capital, Melbourne. Here they continued to network and gain traction which saw them play at Victoria’s best venues on the club circuit including Revolver Upstairs, Circus, Killing Time, Railway Hotel and more. With features on the ever-growing Kiss FM Melbourne, playing DJ sets and presenting original music through the platform, plus releasing on some of Melbourne’s signature imprints such as Recovery Collective, Smash Bang, Suck Music and Kaleidoscopic Earth.
Today in 2023, the collective now runs by the new title DEPTH. Melbourne and is thriving more than ever. Their brand-new concept DEPTH. PERCEPTION is a live performance platform hosting the best electronic producers from Australia and abroad. Our media team film and document artists performing their original music live in some of the country’s most scenic locations to create a 4k cinematic viewing experience. To further that, TOBO & Baksta have been busy in the studio creating various types of house and techno music, that will be finalised and ready to perform for the upcoming festival circuit. Stay tuned.
