About this Event
TCB - The Toni Cade Bambara School of Organizing (2025, 105 minutes) is a biography of the influential writer, filmmaker and cultural worker, who with humor and deep insight, inspired a generation of artists to dedicate themselves to community empowerment. The film is structured as a series of lessons on cultural organizing, gleaned from Bambara's life and shared by her friends, colleagues and students. The film features interviews with luminaries such as Zeinabu irene Davis, Toni Morrison, Alexis Pauline Gumbs and many more.
Tickets are $10-20 sliding scale. All proceeds from this benefit screening go directly to Kearra Amaya Gopee's fundraising efforts to build a new artist residency in their hometown of Carapichaima, Trinidad and Tobago. More information about this effort can be found here.
