Bad Movie Night Brooklyn is back in Freddy's Bar and Backrooms, and we're winding down the hot weather season with an all time Summer stinker. It's From Justin to Kelly! A film that was created out legal obligation, this movie starred American Idol Season 1 winner Kelly Clarkson, and runner-up Justin Guarini, whose contracts required that they star in a musical together as part of their participation in American Idol! The result was this bizarre mistake of a movie with a very nervous looking Kelly Clarkson (who had no interest in acting) and a showboating Justin Guarini (who was definitely bitter about losing the competition) having to pretend to fall in love over one steamy summer! There's gonna be dancing, theres gonna be singing, theres gonna be texts messaged like you've never seen texted before! It's the 2000s, baby! And to introduce the movie will be comedian and podcaster, Lexi Notrica!
Plot:
It's Spring Break, and southern belle Kelly and her girlfriends head to Florida for a steamy, sun-soaked getaway filled with boys, booze, and beaches! Meanwhile, Florida local Justin and his scheming party promoter friends see this influx of bikini-clad cuties as their ticket to get rich quick (and have some fun) with their latest party plan. But when Justin and Kelly end up stumbling into each other in a bathroom, its love at first sight! But once they exchange numbers, a series of events keep them apart. Jealous friends, old flings, the police, stolen phones, and a slew of other mind numbing problems keep Justin and Kelly from reuniting. Will they meet again? Will their Spring Break be a dud? Can you believe human beings in the year 2000 texted like that?! YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE BEEPERS!
