About this Event
TapTalks are back! Join us for an evening with Stefanie Green of the Bertsch Hokendauqua Catasauqua Watershed Association as she discusses snow and snow melt as a source of pollution. Snow can pick up pollutants from the air, and as it melts in the spring it can pick up ground contaminants as well, ultimately being transported to our waterways. Spring flooding due to snowmelt is also a concern, as the intensity of these spring floods increase with global climate change.
Also presenting is Little Lehigh Watershed Steward member Jennifer Latzgo. She will discuss what her watershed association has been working on regarding salt and water quality, and how you can help educate and advocate locally to protect our waterways.
TapTalks are a fun, informative series of presentations on water quality and watershed-based topics. These workshops are scheduled at various locations around Pennsylvania and highlight presentations by local Water Resource Professionals and Penn State Extension Master Watershed Steward Volunteers. The programs are typically scheduled for one hour; however, time varies among presenters and venues.
