Description:
Transplants is a harrowing and poignant novel about two young women in pursuit of kinship and self-discovery in a world that refuses to make space for them. On a rural Chinese university campus, Lin, a socially isolated student, and Liz, a Chinese American teacher grieving her mother’s death, form an unlikely friendship amid suspicion, privilege, and prejudice. After a shocking betrayal leads them to swap lives across continents, both women are forced to confront migration, identity, and belonging as global tensions rise. Daniel Tam-Claiborne is the author of What Never Leaves, and his writing has appeared in Catapult, Literary Hub, The Rumpus, HuffPost, and elsewhere.
