The Acclaimed historian of the American Revolution, Dr. Joanne Freeman will address the fact that the Revolution required people to take a stand, to make choices. There are parallels in today’s political climate as well.

About Dr. Joanne Freeman
Freeman’s work is extensive and includes publishing the award-winning books Affairs of Honor: National Politics in the New Republic, The Essential Hamilton: Letters and Other Writings, and The Field of Blood: Violence in Congress and the Road to Civil War. Her work inspired Lin-Manuel Miranda, who consulted Freeman as he wrote the play Hamilton.
Freeman has also produced numerous podcasts, including co-hosting Now & Then and What the Heck Just Happened? with Heather Cox Richardson. Since 2020, her weekly podcast, History Matters ( . . . and so Does Coffee!), has reached thousands each week. She often appears in national media, teaches graduate classes on American politics and history and has earned numerous teaching awards.
