Beginner-friendly. Using a unique pattern tool, make a mug with a cozy, sweater-like texture. Roll the texture into your slab, cut the body and base from a template, and assemble a mug that feels like your favorite fall cardigan. This is a perfect project for the hot cocoa season! Students will hand build with clay adding texture and design and then choose a glaze color from the available selection. The instructor will bisque fire student work, apply the glaze, and then glaze fire the work before it is returned to the student to take home. All glaze is food safe. Students will be notified when the pieces are ready to be picked up which is expected to be within 2-3 weeks of the class.
All tools and materials needed for the project, to include but not limited to, clay, underglazes, sprig molds, vinyl resist, texture tools, tissue transfers, glaze, bisque firing, glaze firing, and pottery refinement.
