Schedule
Fri Nov 15 2024 at 10:00 am to 11:00 am
UTC-05:00Location
Jaycee Beach Park | Vero Beach, FL
About this Event
Students will discuss the negative impact of debris, especially single-use plastics, on humans and the environment. Students will discuss types of debris collected on local beaches and identify ways they can be a part of the plastic-free movement in their daily lives. Students will take part in a citizen science activity [beach clean-up] that will include recording collected debris for uploading into an international database. A reusable water bottle will be given to all participating registered students.
Please note:
- This program is open to students in grade 5. Only registered participating students will receive water bottles.
- A parent/guardian must remain with student at all times.
- Because this program is being held outdoors, students should be appropriately dressed and prepared for weather/conditions.
A wait list is open if the program fills to capacity. If space does become available, an automatic email will be generated to anyone on wait list (in order of addition to wait list); a short window to register will be available before contacting the next person on wait list.
If you register your student(s) but are unable to attend, please cancel your reservation so others may register.
***We will meet at whichever pavilion is closest to the volleyball court.
