To Register, Go To: https://KidsTriathlonVeroBeach.com/The 2nd Annual Rotary Kids Triathlon will be held on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2024 - a fun and safe, short course, Swim-Bike-Run event. This race (hosted by Rotary Club of Vero Beach - Vero's 1st Club, Est. 1926 and in partnership with Indian River County) is taking place at the Victor Hart Sr. Community Enhancement Complex / Gifford Aquatic Center. All elementary and middle school children between the ages of 6 – 13 are eligible to participate in this exciting multisport youth event geared for both 1st time triathletes and seasoned competitive triathletes.
Our inaugural event last year was sold-out to 200 participants, so BE SURE TO SIGN-UP EARLY!

Given our strong partnership with the County as well as our collaboration with the non-profit youth organizations in our community (such as Gifford Youth Achievement Center, Boys & Girls Club, Float Hope, Crossover Mission and Bike Walk Indian River County), we are introducing weekly Swim, Bike & Run educational and training preparatory clinics for the children commencing in the school year. The kids will therefore not just have a positive experience on Race Day, but they have an opportunity to transform their lifestyles throughout the year to improve their physical/mental health and social skills for a lifetime.
OUR OBJECTIVES:
(i) Empower youth from all Walks of Life,
(ii) Provide all children with Equitable Access,
(iii) Promote an Active and Healthy Lifestyle (improving their physical/mental well-being as well as their friendships and social skills), and
(iv) Offer this event as a Challenge/Responsibility that positively impacts Courage and Resolve.
ADDITIONAL PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS:
1) $20 EARLY-BIRD ENTRY FEE (scholarships available to make this free for those in need): Each child will receive a t-shirt, swim towel and cap, backpack for storing their equipment, beautiful Finisher Medal, and a really cool trophy if they place 1st, 2nd or 3rd for their age - and there will be plenty of water available during the event along with healthy snacks after completing the course!
2) NOVICE or NON-SWIMMERS can walk in the heated Gifford pool, or have a friend or relative complete the swim segment within a RELAY TEAM (there is no reason for any one child not to participate!)
3) The County has designated Dec. 7 as a FAMILY COMMUNITY DAY at the Victor Hart Sr. Complex, allowing all youth participants, as well as their families and friends, to swim for free for the rest of the day at the Gifford Aquatic Center

1) Swim/Wade
>75 yards (3 lengths) for Juniors [6-9 yrs]
>150 yards (6 lengths) for Seniors [10-13 years]
2) Bike/Ride
> 1 mile for Juniors, 2 miles for Seniors
> Bike & Helmet Required
3) Run/Walk
> 0.5 mile for Juniors, 1.0 mile for Seniors
