Three Southern Literary Ladies whose recent books take readers on exciting adventures to other countries, places or eras will join author Cassandra King in a lively conversation as they share a behind-the-scenes look into their novels and hint at what we might expect next from these exceptional storytellers.
In addition, the authors will discuss books that first took them on adventures and how they influenced their writing life.
Cassandra King is an award-winning author of five bestselling novels and two nonfiction books in addition to numerous short stories, essays, and magazine articles. Her latest book, Tell Me A Story, a memoir about life with her late husband, Pat Conroy, was named SIBA’s 2020 non-fiction Book of the Year. A native of LA (Lower Alabama), Cassandra resides in Beaufort, South Carolina, where she is honorary chair of the Pat Conroy Literary Center.

Dana Ridenour is a distinguished retired FBI agent and celebrated author based in Beaufort, South Carolina. Known for her gripping FBI undercover novels, she has captivated readers with titles such as Behind The Mask, Beyond The Cabin, and Below The Radar. Her latest work, All the Hidden Pieces, was released on August 26, 2026.
Lisa Patton, the bestselling author of five novels, is a Memphis, Tennessee native who spent time as a Vermont innkeeper until three sub zero winters sent her speeding back down to the South. She has over twenty-five years of experience working in theater, radio, TV and music, including a decade with Doobie Brother Michael McDonald, who helped Lisa co-write and produce "If Not for You," an original song for Kissing The Sky. A graduate of the University of Alabama.
