It tells the riotous and poignant story of Pat Peoples, who returns home after years in a neural health facility determined to rebuild his life and win back his estranged wife, Nikki.

When Pat meets Tiffany, a tragically widowed and clinically depressed woman, she offers to help reconnect him with Nikki—if he agrees to give up football, compete with her in the Dance Away Depression competition, and keep their unusual arrangement secret. As Pat searches for his “silver lining,” Quick takes us inside his distorted yet endearing perspective in a funny, touching story about depression, love, and the possibility of a happy ending.
