Grand Finale Marine Corps Air Station Oyster Reef Build
About this Event
Help The Nature Conservancy and the Sustainability Institute put the finishing touches on the living shoreline at Marine Corps Air Station in Beaufort! It’s the final volunteer event for this large-scale living shoreline installation and we’d love to celebrate by getting our hands dirty one last time and reaching that 2,000 foot goal!
Join us as we wrap up this exciting project and help create a resilient shoreline for the military housing on base. Volunteers will be working on the sandy shores of the Broad River, passing and stacking oyster castles onto the reef which will serve as a nursery for over 100 species of fish, crabs, and shrimp. Let’s finish strong and celebrate this incredible conservation milestone together!
