About this Event
A Sensory Journey into Spring at Treborth Botanical Gardens
Celebrate the Celtic festival of Ostara with a deeply restorative forest bathing experience inspired by the balance of light and dark at the Spring Equinox. This curated session invites you to slow down, tune in, and reconnect with nature through all your senses.
Guided by the rhythms of the season and the wisdom of Welsh mythology, we will explore the awakening woodland and learn about the silver birch — our tree of the season — known for its symbolism of renewal, protection, and new beginnings.
Expect gentle movement, mindful observation, and immersive nature therapy designed to ground, soothe, and awaken. As the earth stirs into life, you will be invited to notice the subtle shifts in light, sound, scent, and texture that mark this unique seasonal moment.
Join us in the tranquil setting of Treborth Botanical Gardens to welcome spring with intention, presence, and connection.
Participants can expect:
- Gentle movement
- Breathwork
- Storytelling
- Mindful observation
- Time to explore and experience the woodland
- Learning about trees, and the benefits and history of forest bathing
- Refreshments
What to bring:
Please dress for the weather as we will be outside for the whole session, and March is famously unpredictable. Bring waterproof shoes, a waterproof coat, and warm layers. You may also wish to bring something to sit on (a yoga mat, plastic sheet, etc.), and possibly a sleeping bag or blanket for extra warmth and comfort.
Accessibility & Fitness Level
This is a gentle, slow-paced woodland walk suitable for most people with a basic level of mobility and fitness. The session will take place on gravel paths with a gradual incline in some areas, and the ground may be uneven in places.
We will move slowly and pause often for guided activities, mindfulness, and observation. However, participants should feel comfortable walking for around 60–90 minutes at a relaxed pace.
The route may not be suitable for wheelchairs or those who find uneven or sloped terrain difficult to navigate.
If you are unsure whether the walk is suitable for you, please feel free to get in touch before booking.
