Shared Governance Training

Shared Governance Training to provide nurses with an overview of the organization and enterprise structure as well as a systematic review of integration of quality and safety in Shared Governance. Attendees will be able to identify personal leadership skills that will support the council/committee membership and apply the Professional Practice Model to activities that support resiliency. Attendees will be able to articulate the purpose and function of Shared Governance within the organization.

Upon completion of the course, the participant will be able to:

• Articulate the purpose and function of Shared Governance.
• Explain the systematic review of the integration of quality and safety in Shared Governance.
• Identify personal leadership skills that will support council/committee membership.
• Apply Professional Practice Model to activities that support wellness.
• Provide examples on how to incorporate diversity, equity, and inclusion in Shared Governance.

This continuing education (CE) course is offered through Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford by the Center for Professional Excellence and Inquiry (CPEI). Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN), Provider Number 9713.

Center for Professional Excellence and Inquiry is accredited as provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation (ANCC).

• This FREE training is exclusively offered to Stanford Medicine Children's Health employees. For employment verification, please register using your stanfordchildrens.org work email and SCH employee ID number.
• Nursing Staff in Shared Governance Roles. Variety of roles, RNs, Nurse Educators, NPDS, CPQS, Directors, Managers, etc.
• Open to all disciplines; clinical and non-clinical.

Our waitlist is maintained on a first-come, first-served basis. Upon seat availability, you will be contacted automatically with further instructions on how to register.

• NO SHOWS or cancellations on the day of class are considered unexcused absences. Managers will be notified. A medical note may be required in the event of illness or medical emergencies.
• Cancellation by CPEI: Schedules, venues and details are subject to change and cancellation. Registered participants will be provided with as much advance notice as possible if this should occur.
