Event Accessibility:

No alcohol or drugs are allowed.

We’re so excited to experience the Chicago Hoodoo Revival with you! We affirm that if you have a body, you likely have accessibility needs. Building accessibility together is a natural part of what it means to be both IN a body & IN a community.

We believe that creating accessibility is a communal ritual & responsibility. Our volunteer team works to find & create the conditions for events that are as accessible as possible. However, we ask our guests and participants to help us create these conditions as well! Here’s what’s confirmed so far & we’ll update this page with more details soon:

  • Parking: Free Lot & Street parking is available.
  • Venue: Nuk & Granny Farms is a fully outdoor space with easily accessible paved walkways to access the entrance and throughout the main garden areas.
  • Outdoor Access & Mobility: The outdoor garden space is accessible via a paved concrete path.
  • Sound: A DJ will be playing music outdoors, there may be traffic going by, and you may also hear ambient sound indoors. Headphones are welcome if you have sound sensitivities!
  • Food: Food vendors will be present. Our organizing team asks all food vendors to clearly indicate whether their dish has one of 8 primary allergens such as dairy, egg, fish, crustacean shellfish, tree nuts, wheat, peanuts, and / or soybeans. We also ask food vendors to indicate whether their food is vegan and / or vegetarian.
  • Language: This event will be facilitated primarily in English. At the moment, we do not have CART Captions and / or ASL interpreters. However, if you’d like to volunteer as a part of our Language Accessibility team (ASL, Spanish, etc), please email us at [email protected]
  • Scents: We will be activating the space using items such as blessed oils, conjure waters, herbs, & more. These items may be scented. Additionally, guests may come wearing their own scented products. If you’d like to help us create deeper accessibility by refraining from wearing heavily scented items, the community would appreciate it!
  • Photography: We will be working with a photographer in order to capture The Chicago Hoodoo Society’s events. If you do not consent to being photographed, please ask for a red colored wristband at the event check-in.
  • Questions & Support: If you have any other questions or access needs, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at [email protected]. If you need support on the day of the event, please contact our Accessibility Coordinator, whose information will be provided via email.

Chicago Hoodoo Society Community Agreements:
By attending the Juneteenth Hoodoo Revival, you agree to uphold the following Community Agreements.

These principles guide how we show up for ourselves and each other in this sacred space. Your presence is a contribution to our collective care.

Community Agreements:

🌿 Take compassionate responsibility for your energy and experience.

Honor where you are, and be mindful of how you show up. This is a space for collective care, and your presence matters.

🌿 Respect and honor one another.

We are committed to creating a space rooted in dignity, listening, and mutual regard. Every voice is sacred, and every person deserves to feel safe.

🌿 Practice self-awareness and communicate your needs clearly.

Check in with yourself. If boundaries or needs arise, express them respectfully so that we can support one another in good faith.

🌿 Choose depth over display.

We center reflection and thoughtful dialogue—not grandstanding, debate, or energy-taking. Let’s make room for wisdom, not ego.

🌿 Engage in non-violent communication.

Speak with care. Our words should affirm, not harm. We value truth told with kindness.

🌿 Be present, as you are able.

We honor your capacity. Presence isn’t perfection; it’s intention. Come as you are, and be here with purpose.

🌿 Hold confidentiality with care.

What is shared here stays here. Trust is the foundation of our gatherings. Do not share personal or sensitive information outside this space.
