Rooted in Color - An Immersive Cacao & Art Experience
About this Event
Rooted in Color is a 2-hour immersive experience guiding you through a somatic and creative process: a guided cacao ceremony, storytelling carried from the Amazon rainforest, and a large-format drawing with soft pastels.
The cacao we work with is sourced from women-led cooperatives in the Amazon. Before we drink it, we'll share the stories of the women who grow and harvest it - their relationship to the forest, and to this plant long held as medicine and ceremony. From there, we move into embodiment and intuitive art-making, translating what's stirred into motion and color.
This isn't about learning how to paint. It's about making space — to feel, to notice, to reconnect, to create without judgment. No previous artistic experience is needed. Just curiosity, and a willingness to meet yourself where you are.
What to expect:
Opening Circle: gentle sharing, intention-setting, and a short guided meditation to arrive.
Hand Opener: a creative expression practice through drawing.
Cacao Ceremony & Storytelling: ceremonial cacao from Amazonian women's cooperatives, shared alongside their stories — an embodied exploration to move through sensation, gesture, and breath.
Heart Opener: shifting your inner lens.
Mind Opener: a guided practice to observe emotion, reframe patterns, and open to new perspectives.
Closing Circle: integration and reflection on what has moved, what has opened, and what remains.
