Anger is a perfectly normal human response, but it can have significant effects on the nervous system when not dealt with appropriately. Anger and frustration can quickly trigger the sympathetic nervous system, activating the body’s “fight or flight” mode. Prolonged periods of anger and frustration have been linked to a number of health risks including high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, gastrointestinal issues and elevated cortisol levels. And these can lead to a weaken immune system. Mental health issues and feelings of loneliness, being misunderstood, or isolated occur as well.
This workshop will focus on fun and effective yoga and somatic techniques to enhance mind/body connection and release pent up tension and anger. The body holds emotions and intense experiences and it needs a healthy way to be expressed and released. Yoga and Somatic exercises are designed to release stored emotions and stress from the body.
