Amongst the Saints of the Ecclesia Gnostica Catholica we find the enigmatic figure of Parcifal (also variously spelled Parzival, Percifal, and other ways). This character from Arthurian lore is connected to the Mass through the symbolism of the Grail and the Spear, as well as the Dove. There have been many retellings of his story. For this reading group we will be looking at a selection of texts, including the libretto from Wagner's opera as well as the original poem by Wolfram von Eschenbach on which it is based. We will also be dipping into Frater Achad's essay "Chalice of Ecstacy." Doors open at 3:30, readings to begin at 4:30.
