About this Event
Join CYAN for a guided hike to stunning Rawson Lake, nestled in the heart of Kananaskis Country. This is a full-day outdoor adventure designed to help you unplug, move your body, and connect with nature. Expect mountain air, scenic views, and a relaxed, supportive group vibe.
This hike is suitable for beginners to intermediate hikers who are comfortable with several hours of walking and moderate elevation gain. No technical hiking skills required.
The day includes round-trip transportation from Canmore, a professionally guided hike led by Canadian Rockies Experience, and plenty of time to enjoy the trail at a steady, group-friendly pace. Guides will share insights about the area, set a comfortable rhythm, and ensure a safe and welcoming experience.
The Trail
Rawson Lake Trail, Kananaskis Country. Rated moderate at 7km with 526 m elevation gain. This route follows a majestic mossy green forest trail to a pristine lake surrounded by alpine meadows and mountain peaks.

Accessibility
This event involves a multi-hour hike on uneven terrain with elevation gain and is not wheelchair accessible. Washrooms are limited. Participants should be able to walk for extended periods. If you have specific access needs or concerns, feel free to reach out ahead of time to discuss suitability.
About the host/facilitator
Canadian Rockies Experience is a Canmore based private tour guiding company grown from a passion for living and exploring the mountains that surround us and the desire to share these experiences. Their guides are certified IGA Professional and Apprentice Guides and possess 40-hour Wilderness First Responder/Advanced Adventure Medic® credentials.

You are always welcome to attend CYAN events on your own - many people do! Our event staff are there to support you, and we often use light icebreakers to help everyone feel comfortable and included.
While CYAN’s programming is designed with young adults in mind, everyone is welcome to attend our events, except events involving alcohol, which are 18+ only.
