About this Event

We will see how some 208 hectares of former industrial land has been transformed beyond recognition since London won the bid to host the Olympic & Paralympic Games in 2012.

Walking through beautiful parklands, recreation areas and by canals, we’ll look at East Bank, home to Sadlers Wells East, BBC Music Studios (2027), London College of Fashion, V&A East Museum and UCL.

Hear how iconic sports venues such as the Copper Box Arena and the late Zaha Hadid’s London Aquatics Centre are used today. We will also see Here East (former International Media & Press Centre), a new innovation hub and home to the V&A Storehouse, several university campuses, a dance studio and many others.

After the tour is finished, there are plenty of places in the area for a snack or lunch, and opportunities to visit V&A Storehouse and V&A East.

To find the meeting point:

At Stratford Station (Jubilee, Central and Elizabeth Lines, DLR and Overground trains) follow the signs to Westfield Stratford City and the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

If using the underpass then Stratford Place is immediately in front of you when you exit the station

If using the bridge over the railway tracks then when you reach the end of the bridge walk down the stairs on the right hand side and Pret A Manger will be to your right,.
