The Rotary Club of Sydney invites members, family, and friends to an exclusive private guided tour of the 2026 Archibald, Wynne and Sulman Prizes at the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
This year's Archibald Prize has been awarded to Richard Lewer for his portrait of Pitjantjatjara Elder Iluwanti Ken – a life-sized work painted with pigments on unprimed canvas, selected unanimously by the gallery trustees from a near-record 1,034 entries .
The Archibald Prize is Australia's most celebrated portrait prize, open to any artist living in Australia or New Zealand. Since 1921, it has reflected the unique experiences of the people who live in this region, highlighting figures from all walks of life. The Wynne Prize celebrates landscape painting of Australian scenery or figure sculpture, while the Sulman Prize recognises subject painting, genre painting or mural projects.
