Learn how state & local transportation agencies can partner with stakeholders to design and deliver comprehensive electric transportation.
About this Event

This workshop explores how Midwest communities are advancing clean, affordable electric mobility through strategic partnerships, effective community engagement, and equitable planning. Drawing on real efforts, such as bringing charging investments, promoting multimodal decarbonization campaigns, supporting municipalities through advocacy and resource-sharing, and leveraging the national Towards Equitable Electric Mobility (TEEM) framework, participants will learn how to shape electric transportation programs that reflect community needs and expand mobility options beyond EV ownership. The session will also highlight collaborative initiatives with utilities and local organizations to broaden education, engagement, and access, offering a model that communities can adapt and integrate into their own electrification efforts.

Participants will learn:

  • How your community can benefit from clean, affordable electric mobility, including charging access, multimodal options, and decarbonization strategies.
  • How to meaningfully engage residents and partners, using approaches that build trust and guide shared decision-making.
  • Best practices for centering community needs from planning through implementation.
  • Where to find additional support and resources, including TEEM guidance, statewide networks, and partner organizations

Ticket Cost: $25

Complimentary passes will be available.

This workshop is made possible in part by generous financial support from the McKnight Foundation.

About Forth

Forth is a nonprofit organization with a mission to electrify transportation by bringing people together to create solutions that reduce pollution and barriers to access. Founded in 2011, Forth’s diverse experience includes providing technical and outreach assistance to communities and states; designing and executing dozens of hands-on projects, from e-bike education and electric carsharing in historically underserved communities; and creating the nation’s first brand-neutral mobile EV showroom to support public education events. Forth believes that centering the needs of those with the greatest barriers produces better outcomes for all and is committed to centering equity in all our work.

About TEEM - Toward Equitable Electric Mobility

TEEM is a peer-to-peer network of advocates who share policy goals, build capacity, and advance racial equity in electric mobility and climate action. It provides hands-on support to member organizations nationwide while fostering a collaborative community where teams learn from and support one another across states.
