Mid-Michigan Spartans Behind the Scenes at MSU Kinesiology

Located in IM Circle, the Department of Kinesiology offers undergraduate and graduate programs foundational to careers in physical therapy, medicine, occupational therapy, exercise physiology, sport psychology, etc.

A current Kinesiology student may eventually lead a large global research university, just like MSU President, Kevin Guskiewicz. Though not from MSU, President Guskiewicz, earned a BS and MS in Athletic Training & Exercise Physiology that culminated in a PhD from the University of Virginia in Sports Medicine. He became one of the leading experts on sports-related concussions. President Guskiewicz, is a tenured professor in the Department of Kinesiology at MSU.

This tour will take you behind-the-scenes in the nostalgic IM Circle building. We'll visit three of Kinesiology's labs and hear from current faculty.

This is a relatively small tour and will fill quickly. Reserve your spot soon if you wish to attend.

Parking will be a challenge. There aren't any lots beside the building. The closest pay-by-plate lot is the lot at IM West, which is next to the stadium. From there, it's a short walk across the bridge to get to IM Circle. There are pay-by-plate meters along West Circle on the North side of Adam's Field, which is the plot of grass adjacent to the Music Building and Cowles House. The meters are across the street from Yakely Gilchrist. There are a few accessible spaces in front of IM Circle and in front of the Music Building. It's difficult to predict availability on a Friday morning, however. If you choose to park in an East Lansing lot or garage and walk to IM Circle, the garage on Albert across from Harper's is the closest option.
