Power Up is hosting several workshops over summer break 2026!

Being creative, moving and socialising is a great way to feel well, and learning new skills can be fantastic for your self esteem - so we have planned a summer break packed with it all, for free, for young people and young adults in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan.

Wild Rhythm: Get Creative with Nature and Sound!

This summer, reconnect with the natural world right in the heart of the city. Join Wild Rhythm at the beautiful, vibrant Railway Gardens in Splott for a summer holiday event designed to ground your senses, spark your creativity, and tune you into the natural rhythms of the season.

Whether you want to create with your hands, find your beat in a community circle, or simply be immersed in unique soundscapes from nature, there is a space here for you.

What to Expect

• Nature-Inspired Arts & Crafts: Work with natural materials to create beautiful take home items such as your own handmade instrument.
• Musical Rhythm Workshops: Our interactive rhythm sessions use percussion to celebrate community connection. No musical experience is needed; just bring your energy and an open mind.
• Immersive Sound Experiences: Surrounded by the greenery of the gardens, you’ll be able to use some high tech gear to get immersed in the natural soundscapes from insects, plants and beneath the surface of the pond. Railway Gardens is the perfect location for us to get creative and connect with nature this summer.

This session will be for all young people aged 10-25. Bring a friend if you'd like!

Please note, this is ONE event in a 5 week series. If you would like to attend the sessions weekly, you will need to sign up to each individual session. This booking will only confirm your attendance for this date.

• Support to finance and arrange transport can be discussed.
• Please ensure you are contactable if you are a parent/guardian in case we need any consent/ disclaimers on behalf of the venues (e.g. for any outdoor exercise activities)
• Participants must wear appropriately clothing and trainers for exercise and/or to possibly get dirty crafting, where applicable
