About this Event

Come along for a free evening torch-lit walk of your local Pourewa Creek that flows through Kepa Bush. We should see native fish and eels that come alive at night, and enjoy exploring the park after dark!

Hear from Mountains to Sea Conservation Trust about an exciting project to help restore native freshwater fish habitat along the creek. Ngā Kaitiaki Hapori o Pourewa will also chat about the restoration mahi underway in this lovely reserve.

Enjoy a hot cuppa and biscuits afterwards (extra bikkies if you BYO cup) :)

Registrations are essential for this event.

Closed shoes and warm clothes are essential. Bring a torch if you have one; we'll provide spares if needed. Participants will need to be comfortable walking around 1km across uneven ground with unformed track in places, and manage stairs / slopes.

Rangatahi and tamariki under 16 will need to be supervised by a guardian over 18.

This event is made possible by the support of the Auckland Council Regional Environment and Natural Heritage fund, Auckland Council Healthy Waters and Ōrākei Local Board.
