About the book: The Crash by Sally Wenley
Sally Wenley’s memoir recounts a 1987 bus crash that left her paraplegic, tracing her journey from angry teen to award-winning reporter as she confronts trauma, resilience, and the lasting impact of loss.

About the author and host:

• Sally Wenley is an award-winning journalist. She has a Bachelor of Arts from Massey University and a diploma in broadcast journalism. She began her journalism career at Television New Zealand in Auckland, worked for a time at a magazine for doctors and then at Radio New Zealand, where she won four journalism awards for radio reporting.
  Sally is now a freelance journalist for both RNZ and other publications. In her spare time, she enjoys hunting and fishing and volunteers to help other newly injured people who have become wheelchair users like herself. She lives in Auckland with Bruce and her teenage daughter.
  
• Olivia Shivas (she/her) is editor at The D*List and has worked in the media industry for over a decade. Prior to The D*List, she was a journalist reporting on disability and social issues. Olivia is passionate about authentic storytelling, bringing disability rights to life through her own lived experience and through relationships in the community.
