Auckland’s storm-water discharges were examined for a year and it was found that each day 28,000 pieces of litter, much of it plastic, ended up in the Waitematā Harbour.
Picking up rubbish for a couple of hours might not sound like fun but we always have a great time and you can't beat that feeling of knowing you've made a tangible difference.
Bring a bottle of water with you, some family and friends, and sun block just in case. We'll provide everything else (but if you do have your own gloves please do bring them along), including a few good laughs.
Meeting point - at the end of Craig Rd on the reserve behind the toilet block. Note we are not meeting on the actual beach, but the reserve because it's nice and flat.
