Poultry Programme Induction

This training is for new volunteers joining us for our poultry programme, raising our large flock here at the farm.

If you are interested in keeping chickens at home please take a look at our Chicken Keeping Basics workshop, as this training will not be suitable.

As a poultry volunteer, you will be expected to come to at least one shift per fortnight before 9am. On your shift you will feed the chickens, refill their water, check their shelter and fences, and clean up any of their waste. This training will teach you how to do all of these tasks and look after their wellbeing, even if you have never looked after livestock before.

You'll be joining around 30 other households in raising our poultry and many other volunteers who come to the farm every morning and evening to look after the pigs, poultry, goats, and sheep.
