About this Event
A Theatre Deli double bill from Aneirin George and Sophie Bevan.
2 x 50 min shows with 20 minute interval between. Studio 12, Theatre Delicatessen.
Poke The Bear - Aneirin George
Is the lie "I'm fine, how are you?" the greatest and most dangerous piece of misinformation of all?
Through lies, truth, chaos, unity and disaster, let's explore why we feel we can’t just say how we really are or why we feel that nobody wants to listen when we do.
Created through a self-devised system of content generation, Poke The Bear is an experimental performance combining theatre, clowning, comedy and dark emotional truth, exploring the unspoken sides to our mental health.
Chicken Night - Sophie Bevan
Is it chicken and then the egg or egg and then the chicken?
Gladys Peabottom is trying to work it out as she’s worried she’s turning into one.
Expect a rollercoaster of candyfloss, fears, feathers and Hull.
Chicken Night is a show that has been trying to get written for years. Sophie has decided it is time. She has ordered a chicken costume from Vinted and everything, so it's got to happen now.
Themes: mental health, abuse, chickens, grief, strawberry milkshakes and Hull.
For tickets, Sophie is asking for a donation to Women's Aid and Save The Children. The link to the fundraising page can be found here Women's Aid and Save The Children
Written and performed by Sophie Bevan
Directed by Benji Mowbray
MD Elliot Mackenzie
Please Note:
The show will talk about parental grief, mental health, abusive relationships and subsequent talk of courtrooms and injunctions. Theatre Deli has a calm room located upstairs if anyone should need a quiet space after the show.
