Pilates in Pink is back! Join us this Breast Cancer Awareness Month for a special outdoor Mat Pilates session in support of the Breast Cancer Foundation (BCF). Whether you're a Pilates regular or trying it for the first time, come together with friends, family and our community to move, connect and make a difference.
This year, we’re continuing the tradition while introducing a new element to our practice: lymphatic drainage exercises.
Our lymphatic system plays an important role in fluid balance and immune function. Gentle, rhythmic movement can support the natural circulation of lymphatic fluid. This is particularly relevant in breast cancer care, as some breast cancer treatments can affect the lymphatic system.
SmartFit Pilates Senior Instructor and Lymphatic Drainage Exercise Specialist Hui Lin will guide you through a warm-up using wellbeing bands, designed to encourage the natural circulation of lymphatic fluid while regulating your nervous system. Following this, The Moving Body Master Instructor Atsuko will lead you through a feel-good Pilates flow, bringing together breath, mindful movement and whole-body strength. Hui Lin will then end with some rhythmic and full-body lymphatic drainage exercises to leave you feeling energised and refreshed.
