Photowalk

Whether you're an experienced photographer, looking to develop your skills and experiment, or simply want to meet other photographers and enthusiasts in the Portsmouth, our photowalk is the perfect opportunity to capture the city through your own distinctive lens.

The Photowalk will be hosted by visual artist Alice Louisa, who'll be leading the photographic exploration through Portsmouth and offering guidance, tips and tricks along the way.

Please note, you will need to bring your own camera.

We will meet at South Parade Pier, Southsea. Please arrive 5 minutes before is due to commence.

The photowalk will take around 2 hours. Please wear weather-appropriate clothing and footwear.

All donations will support Pompey Darkroom's programme of accessible and enriching workshops, events and community engagement.

About the host

Alice Louisa is a multidisciplinary artist based in Hampshire. She works primarily with photography, extending into installation, arts facilitation and participatory projects. Her practice centres collaboration with individuals and communities who have been under- and/or misrepresented in the media, working to amplify their voices through lens-based storytelling.

Her work is shaped by her upbringing and explores themes of class, identity and social experience. She is particularly interested in the political and social potential of art, often using elements of humour and fantasy as tools to navigate complex or sensitive subjects, creating spaces for connection and dialogue.
