Take part in this exciting free 4-week Photography and Photo Editing course. Plus, a free £20 Amazon voucher for everyone who successfully completes the course.
This course is a great way to explore photography, improve your photo editing skills, and spark your curiosity about creative careers and training. You’ll get hands-on experience using iPads to capture photos and free, accessible software to edit them, so you can continue your creative journey even after the course ends.

Course Breakdown:
Week 1: Photography - Photography Basics
Learn how to make the most of smartphone cameras. Explore settings, lighting, and techniques to take better photos.
Week 2: Photography - Composition
Discover how to frame and compose your shots for maximum impact. Understand the principles of visual storytelling and how to make your photos stand out.
Week 3: Photo Editing - Colour Splash & Colour Replacement
Learn how to enhance your photos using free software, Pixlr. Experiment with techniques like colour splash and colour replacement to bring your creative ideas to life.
Week 4: Photo Editing - Retouching & Creating Composites
Take your editing skills further by retouching images and creating composites. Learn how to combine multiple elements into a single image to make professional-looking results.

No prior experience is required for any activity, and all equipment will be provided by us. Our friendly tutors will be there to support you every step of the way.
Who can get involved?
This course is open to young adults aged 18–21 from the Liverpool City Region who are not currently in education, employment or training (NEET).
When is this course?
This course is made up of four, weekly, 2-hour sessions.
Wednesdays, 25th February - 18th March, 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm.
Where will the workshop take place?
YMCA St Helens Youth Hub, St Helens, WA10 2TJ.
How much does it cost?
This project is generously funded by Youth Guarantee, with delivery support from VOLA, and the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, therefore it is free to attend.
What equipment should I bring?
Digital Arts Box will bring all of the equipment needed to participate in this course.
