Paper Lantern Making with Kerry Maloney

Spend your Tuesday evening making something magical! Join Kerry Maloney for a fun, hands-on Paper Lantern Making Workshop at The Arts.

You’ll learn how to combine reed, tissue paper, and lights to create a beautiful illuminated lantern from start to finish. First-time lantern makers are absolutely welcome, and those with a little experience can use the materials and techniques to experiment with a more elaborate creation.

No experience is necessary, and all materials are provided!

In addition to leaving with your own finished lantern, you’ll learn how to use reed as a structural material—a technique you can incorporate into future creative projects.

✨ BONUS: Your handmade lantern will be ready to shine in the Annual Winter Solstice Lantern Parade on December 21!

About the Instructor:

Kerry Maloney is, in a word, enthusiastic! After taking a paper lantern class herself, she loved it so much she simply couldn’t stop making them. She went on to create lanterns for the 2023 Under The Flower Moon art exhibit, and her current goal is to take every single art class offered by The Arts!
