About this Event

All painting materials are provided!

Option to meet us at the painting location and skip the ride.

🚲 Bring your own bike. Many bike share rentals nearby.

Enjoy a relaxing morning or evening painting with acrylics while the serene sounds of a flowing river and rustling leaves immerse you in the very nature you paint. Your audience will be a Great Blue Heron or maybe a painted turtle. See Toronto from an entirely new perspective with a historical tour, then learn how to see it in a new light from the eye of a painter.

Ride (optional)

We kick off our journey near Wendigo Pond in High Park. From there, enjoy a relaxed, 13km guided ride through some of the west end's most picturesque trails, making our way toward the lakeshore and into the lush Humber River valley. Along the way, your charismatic guide will pause the ride to share engaging, little-known facts about the area. The pace is casual, making it an enjoyable cruise for cyclists of all backgrounds.

Paint

Our cycling route finishes at a beautiful and historic location along the Humber River, where we will trade our handlebars for paintbrushes. Set up at your provided easel for an en plein air (outdoor) painting session led by artist Steven Twigg (steventwigg.ca). Whether you are a total novice holding a brush for the first time or more experienced, relax and enjoy with painting guidance tailored to your skill level. At the end, you'll have created a beautiful painting to take home.
Overall the experience is 3 hours enjoying nature, riding, and painting with other like minded people. It's a great way to take your mind off life's stresses and just be present.

Rain plan

The tour runs rain or shine. We will cancel for thunderstorms. Summer weather changes quickly so a call will be made 2 hours prior to the event and communicated by email. If a tour is cancelled you will have the option to change the date/time of your ticket, or receive a full refund.

It's still a lot of fun in the rain and can make for a very atmospheric ride and scene to paint!
