Children's scrap weaving workshop held by local mum and woven textile designer, Laylah. Create your own simple loom and fabric to take home
About this Event

Join us this half term for a family weaving workshop in the The Engine Room at The Exchange in Penzance.

Your child will learn to make a simple weaving frame from found materials and create their own creative woven fabric using scrap materials from local businesses, yarns from Bristol Weaving Mill, and recycled finds. They'll leave with a finished piece ready to frame or turn into a wall hanging, and the skills to make another loom at home.

Everything you need to build your frame loom and weave you first cloth is included in the workshop. Guided by textile artist and local mum, Laylah.

No weaving experience needed, this is all about creative play and making with your hands. We recomend this workshop is most suited for 5 to 12 year olds.

Ticket price includes one child and their adult. We have a tiered ticket system to make our workshops accessible. Please select the option that suits you best.
