Oakland Chinatown Lunar New Year Parade

Celebrate the Lunar New Year at one of Oakland’s most vibrant and beloved community traditions in the heart of Chinatown. This family-friendly, in-person parade features live music and performances including a Cantonese cover band, Midnight Vanette , a special appearance by Mark Pellizzer from the Canadian band MAGIC!, energetic lion dances, and many more cultural performances throughout the day.

Attendees can also explore up to 40 local vendors, enjoy a lively and welcoming atmosphere, and support Oakland Chinatown’s small businesses and community organizations. A designated area will offer alcoholic beverages for purchase—so guests 21+ can relax and enjoy a beer while taking in the performances and festive street celebration.
