About this Event
Ntôpom Awâsis: Indigenous Stewardship for Freshwater Futures
Join us in person for Ntôpom Awâsis, a gathering that brings together Indigenous leaders, community members, Elders, youth, and partner organizations to celebrate and strengthen Indigenous-led freshwater stewardship.
This event will feature project presentations, shared experiences, and meaningful conversations focused on watershed protection, community-based monitoring, and the role of Indigenous knowledge in caring for water. Attendees will also hear from an Indigenous Elder on the cultural and lived importance of watersheds and take part in a panel discussion on stewardship challenges, youth engagement, and collaborative solutions.
The event will also mark the official launch and unveiling of the Eco-Guardian Program, recognizing community members who will play an active role in long-term freshwater monitoring and protection.
