As part of Norwich History Festival 2026, we are very excited to host artist Jeremy Deller in conversation.
Jeremy is one of the country’s leading visual artists.
This event will explore how he has used historical events in his public artworks and films. Jeremy masterminded the country wide appearance of WW1 soldiers at railway stations as a unique memorium in his project 'We're here because we're here'.
He has also organised a re-enactment of the the 'Battle of Orgreave' in the 1980s miners strike.
At this event he will reflect on his approach and motivations for these and other art projects accompanied by film clips.
Jeremy will be signing copies of his book Art Is Magic after the event.
Event duration: 75 mins.
