New, Immersive Mock Trial Event
FREE TO CECA MEMBERS
Join us for a very special event at Wakefield Town Hall on Wednesday 11thNovember 2026 when we will present our new style, immersive Mock Trial, relating to a pedestrian/vehicle segregation incident.
We will drop into various stages of this case, considering the issues and the steps that the defendants decide to take. We consider what could have been done differently, and whether the defendants should even be in the dock. We are joined by the Judge, Barristers, Defendants and Witnesses and you will play the role of the Jury. Listen to the evidence and decide whether our defendants are ‘Guilty’ or ‘Not-Guilty’ of the charges they face.
We will also consider the impact of the Sentencing Guideline on fines and custodial sentences in Health & Safety cases. We then review how a Judge would approach sentencing in this case.
As a result of attending this event, you will have better knowledge of the stages of a Health & Safety case, and you will see the decisions that make a difference to the outcome.
We are pleased to welcome Emma Bowens, Partner at Gunnercooke and Director of Bowens Solutions Limited to present this very special event. Emma is a specialist in Health and Safety law, with a wealth of experience in dealing with serious investigations and prosecutions.
Registration will take place from 9am (refreshments & pastries will be served) with the course starting promptly at 9.30am.
Please Note: A non-attendance fee of £75.00 will be charged to any registrant who fails to provide a minimum of 48 hours’ notice of cancellation.
