About this Event

Join us at the Season of the Witch Festival – a community event celebrating witchcraft, folklore, spirituality, wellbeing and creativity! 🖤✨

Season of the Witch is about meeting people, discovering new ideas, learning something unexpected and celebrating the wonderfully weird and wonderful community around us!

Come along for the talks. Stay for the stalls (did we mention we have Cacao stalls, Crystals, Wicca, Tarot readers?!). Discover something new. Have a chat. Grab a coffee or a bite to eat. Meet fellow curious souls.

Guest Talks & Q&A
We’ll be joined on stage for an afternoon of fascinating talks exploring Yorkshire’s witches, folklore and modern Paganism. First, step back into Yorkshire’s darker history with historian & archaeologist Dave Weldrake, as he uncovers the fascinating and chilling stories behind some of Yorkshire’s very own witches — including Mary Bateman, from her life and conviction to her public execution in 1809.
Followed by Steve Jones (founder of the Wakefield Pagan Moot, which has been running since October 1988!) for a fascinating Q&A with a Witch, busting myths and exploring the realities of modern witchcraft and Paganism — with the opportunity to ask your own questions!
