City of Issaquah Urban Forest Supervisor Dan Hintz will be leading a hike to celebrate National Public Lands Day on September 27th. Come visit the last Issaquah Farmer’s Market of the season and join a guided hike along Issaquah Creek to explore how public lands benefit people and wildlife.
The hike will focus on the efforts led by City of Issaquah, community partners, and volunteers to conserve and restore riparian and instream habitat along the Pickering Reach of Issaquah Creek. This work supports threatened Chinook salmon populations (which will be returning to Issaquah Creek at this time) and lots of other wildlife! Learn about this vital work and ways you can engage in the ongoing process to steward our public lands.
Trailhead: Pickering Barn (see attachment for meeting location)

Distance: 2-3 miles
Duration: 1.5 hours
Elevation Gain: relatively flat and mostly on paved trails

Parking & Meeting Spot: Our walk will begin at the entrance of the Pickering Reach trail near the red shed at the Pickering Barn (please see attached map). Please note, the Issaquah Farmer’s Market will be taking place at the same time (you are encouraged to visit the last market of the season). Parking is available at the Costco Parking Garage.
