Museum Visit - Here: Pride and Belonging in African Art

Join us for a pride month educational trip to the National Museum of African Art to see Here: Pride and Belonging in African Art.
Curated by Kevin D. Dumouchelle and Serubiri Moses
Artists’ voices are central to this exhibition, which is based on years of close collaboration and dialogue with African visual art practitioners who claim belonging in the LGBTQ+ community, however they define those terms. They are united by a simple, shared declaration: We are here and always have been and will be.
Those interested can meet outside the museum at 1pm. We will enjoy the exhibit and museum together. There is no pre-timed tickets necessary.
Dress code: Dress appropriately for public viewing. But be you! Also, museums tend to be chilly so prepare accordingly.
You Potomac lead for this event is Jeffrey T.
